Muktinath is situated at the base of Khatang Kang (Thorang Peak) in Baraha Gaun (lit. Twelve village) in the district of Mustang in the north central part of Nepal, and it is about 110 Km from Pokhara and 20 kilometers northeast of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3800 meters from the sea level. The word “Muktinath” is obtained from two words “Mukti” and “Nath” which means “Salvation or Nirvana” and “God or Master” respectively. According to Hindu Myth, it is a belief that this world is “MAYA” (an illusion) of life cycle taking birth and rebirth on this earth. And to exit from this chain Hindu devotees visit this temple to take bath in 108 waterspouts (Mukti Dhara) and 2 holy ponds (Mukti Kunda) which is located in the backyard and front of the temple respectively.

After 35 minutes scenic Helicopter flight land just in front of the Muktinath temple.  Pilgrimage travelers will get one hour time for pray & excursion the Muktinath temple. During this period pilgrimage will visit Jwalamukhi mai where travelers can see the flame over the holy water.

Best Time for Muktinath Helicopter Tour

For Muktinath Helicopter tour, you can fly all year round in the day tour of the Annapurna base camp in the helicopter in day time but the visibility should be clear. So autumn and spring are the best seasons to explore the views by helicopter. Winter (December to February) is perfect but the landing place will be full of snow.  The rainy season is not recommended for the helicopter ride because the cloudy and foggy weather interrupts the visibility and almost not possible to fly.

You will visit over there around one hour then fly back to Pokhara.
